At Meadowbank we understand the importance of healthy hearts and minds and provide a number of physical activity opportunities for our children. We have a strong partnership with a local Stockport sports company, Elite, who work with children and adults in school to ensure fitness levels and a love of sport develops in all children.
Professional coaches work alongside school adults to deliver the games element of the national curriculum in Key Stage One and Key stage Two. They run staff development opportunities and plan the curriculum alongside teachers.
Professional coaches set up activities and games such as tennis, cricket and netball in two of our playgrounds during lunchtime. They play alongside the children teaching them the skills and rules.
School runs a football team for our older children who play against other schools in the area.
A number of after school sports clubs are run in school on a rolling programme to ensure that a range of interests are catered for.
Clubs run each night, managed by professional coaches. Clubs run include Street dance, Cheerleading, Football, Olympic Skills, Netball and Cricket.
